Desert Classified Ads Advanced Tutorial

Part II: Creating the Advanced Ad and Enhanced Features

Registered Users - also called Members - have the ability to use the Enhanced Features, but Guest users do not. If you are a Guest user - someone who has not registered on the site, or you have not logged in - the Enhanced Features option will not display for you. The advantages to free registration are numerous, including

• the ability to edit your ad,
• update your ad,
• use optional enhancements like Bold-bordered or Homepage Featured, and
• the ability to upload photographs of your items for sale.

Therefore, this tutorial is provided for Registered Users.

1. We begin this tutorial at the point that you have clicked "submit" after finishing Basic Ad Creation. Once you have clicked "submit," the next page you will see is the Ad Preview and Features option page, which looks like this:
   
   
   
   
   


2. To access and use the enhanced features, you'll click "I want to ADD extra features!"
   
   
3. The next page is the "Your Classified Ad - Extra Features" page:
   
   
   
   
   
   
4. If you choose features which require no further action on your part - for example, Add Bold Border, or Highlighted - once you click "submit," you will be taken directly to the ad Order Summary page for review, and then to the PayPal payment page. If you choose features like adding pictures, which you will have to upload, you'll see this instantly as soon as you click "Extra 10 Pictures," because the "Extra 10 Pictures" box immediately expands to display ten upload boxes.
   
   
   
   
   
   
5. Place your cursor on the "Browse" button and click. Then navigate to the folder or location on your computer where you have the pictures of your item, click on the first one (use your favorite for the first picture, because the first-uploaded image is the one used in the Ad Teaser view!) and once it is highlighted, click "open." The file will be uploaded to the upload box. Then type your description for that picture. Do this again nine more times for the remaining upload boxes. You do not have to use all of the upload boxes or images. When you are done uploading, your upload boxes should look something like this:
   
   
   
   
   
   
6. Then click "submit."

8. When you have clicked "submit" on the Ad Summary page, the final page you will see for your order processing (you saw this in the video) is the Paypal payment logo, which says "Buy Now with Paypal."
   
   
   
   
   
9. Simply click the paypal button and you will be taken to Paypal's site to complete the payment for your order; (if you do not have a Paypal account, you can use a credit card to pay for your ad through Paypal's processing center, see the link in this image)
   
   
   
   
   
10. Once you have logged in, you'll see this Review Payment page:
    
    
    
    
    
11. Review your payment, and click "Pay Now," you will see your Transaction Completed Page:
    
    
    
    
    
12. Then simply click the link on the Paypal Completed Transaction page that says "Return to Desert Classified Ads" to return to our website.
